Books & Beer #2

May 31, 2011

The Books & Beer book swap was first created by Melissa Low, when she held the event on the 29th of January 2011 at her home with some friends. While the concept of a book swap isn’t new, drinking at a book swap is! In truth, it was born in hope of getting more friends (who don’t necessarily read or want to swap books) to attend. The event was a success with 12 (tipsy) guests and over 30 books traded! Now we are proud to present… Books & Beer #2 in conjunction with World Environment Day!

Date: 5th June 2011
Time: 3 – 6pm
Venue: Food #03 (Post-Museum), 107+109 Rowell Road

Entry is by purchase of drinks (cheapest drink is only $2.50!) and all proceeds will go towards fund-raising for Post-Museum’s new space and continuation of their programmes which include The Soup Kitchen!

Come on down to do your bid for the environment and to sustain Post-Museum’s wonderful initiatives as an open, inclusive social space! Join us and call all your friends, drinkers or non (we just happen to adore alliteration!), to come as well!

The rules of the book* swap are simple:

All participants of the book trade are only allowed to bring up to 10 books and ideally aim to bring home the same number of books they came with. If participants leave books behind, the organizers reserve the right to donate these books to charity.

And for the techies with your e-readers, bring them along. We’re sure you’d find an e-trove out there!

* No textbooks and magazines please, tempting as it may be!

For more information visit out events page or contact Eileen or Melissa via email.

See you there!
