The Conference of Youth
The 5th Conference of Youth (COY) started today on the 5th and will continue till the 6th of December at Copenhagen as a run up to the upcoming Conference of Parties (COP-15). Over 500 youth have gathered to create a united voice and strategy against Climate Change. Coming from all over the world, the conference has an increased number of youth from the less developed countries, in comparison to previous years.
The aim of COY is to ‘build trust and solidarity among youth who will be attending COP15, and to share ideas, thoughts, successes and skills with each other.’
Over course of two days, we will get to know each other, forge closer ties, and strategize on bringing forth the youths’ perspective on climate change, and what we as a group want to achieve during COP. By understanding each other, we aim to unite the group as a single Youth NGO to stop the climate crisis as a global movement.
